This programme enables learners with significant experience in a health and wellbeing setting to further develop skills and knowledge required to provide advanced relationship-centred and person-centred support for people with complex needs and their whānau.

 

What you will learn:

  • Collaborate with the wider healthcare team and whānau to support complex needs

  • Communicate effectively in a culturally connected manner

  • Carry out workplace reporting and record management requirements

  • Apply leadership skills by mentoring or coaching colleagues within support teams

  • Find employment in a support role such as a caregiver, healthcare assistant or support worker through to more senior support roles in a range of healthcare settings

  • Entry criteria
    Academic entry Applicants must demonstrate potential to study at Level 4 with adequate literacy and numeracy skills. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old to commence the programme. All applicants must meet the requirements of the Children’s Act 2014 and its subsequent amendments, including: Providing verified identification. Providing evidence of previous education and work history in the selection process. Providing at least one written reference. Succeeding in a personal visual interview. Attaining a New Zealand Police vetting report. Arise Academy undertakes a risk assessment in accordance with the Children’s Act 2014 including the above information in order to select the applicants for the program. English language entry All applicants must provide evidence of meeting English language requirements according to Rule 18 of the NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2021.
